PyroForge Studios is an independent developer of games for the PC. Our founding in the fall of 2013 has marked the beginning of a journey for us as students, and developers. We are excited to bring you amazing games and top-quality play.
Bereavement
Bereavement sets you into a world of madness and confusion. Taking the controls of a man losing his sanity, you wander through a world dissolving into monstrosity and manic depravity. The voices in your head send you seeking what seem to be meaningless objects and demanding obscene objectives. If you sink too far into the unreal reality of this environment your character’s mind will snap, flinging you into a nightmare acid trip existence, where death is a high probability. The world is now your rabbit hole, welcome to Bereavement.
The Mirriam-Webster Dictionary defines insanity as,“A deranged state of the mind usually occurring as a specific disorder (as schizophrenia).” Or “Such unsoundness of mind or lack of understanding as prevents one from having the mental capacity required by law to enter into a particular relationship, status, or transaction or as removes one from criminal or civil responsibility.” When you play Bereavement you will be in a constant battle for your sanity. Your progression through the game will mark subtle plot changes and further instability from the game’s character.
Your jaunt through the surreal world of Bereavement will bring you face to face with various twisted enemies and engaging bosses. The weapons will be a bit unconventional, from tombstones to kitten cannons, you will be clubbing, shooting, and exploding your way through a bad-trip take on the mundane. Your character’s health is based on his sanity level, and degrades while you take damage and advance through the game. When the sanity meter drops past a certain point, the enemies and character will take on a whole new look. Some enemies will become manic with color, and others will evolve into twisted versions of themselves. If your meter falls to zero it’s game over for our intrepid psychosomatic hero, so hold on to your mind. This is insanity, this is Bereavement, and this is coming in winter of 2014.
